Step 1: Wash your hands with soap and water. Tear the paper wrap from the edges to take out the tampon. Throw the paper wrap in a bin.
Step 2: Hold the tampon string and pull on it quickly and firmly a couple of times to make sure it is secured to the tampon.
Step 3: Sit comfortably on the toilet seat or in squatting position or stand with one leg raised and resting on the toilet seat.
Step 4: Locate your vaginal opening with your fingers.
Step 5: Now push your index finger into the hollow at the end of the tampon and place it at the vaginal opening at an angle.
Step 6: The more relaxed you are, the easier it will be.
Step 7: Using the index finger, start pushing the tampon slowly and gently at an angle.
Step 8: Push the tampon inside as far as possible till you can no longer feel it.
Step 9: If you feel any discomfort, remove the tampon using the string, wash your hands and try again with a fresh tampon.
Step 10: The tampon can be removed by slowly pulling the string downwards and outwards.
Step 11: Once the tampon has been removed, wash your hands with soap and water.
Step 12: Wrap the used tampon in toilet paper and throw it in a bin.
